Exclamation WTF? Massive Fuel Pump Leak!

Had an interesting and definitely scary problem today, I started the car and smelled fuel, backed out and saw a large puddle of fuel on the ground, looked under car and saw what looked like a garden hose wide open spilling fuel all over the street. I had absolutely no idea what could cause this- I called the always trusty PorscheSpeedemon- he immediately narrowed it to the fuel pump (seen this issue a few times) which is under the plastic hump held on with 4 nuts just forward of the battery. Upon removal of the cover, I saw the fuel supply line (lowest hose here or closest to the driver side) disconnected and the area full of fuel. I reconnected the fitting and gently tugged ensuring it wouldn’t easily dislodge again. After cleaning the fuel spill, I restarted without issue.

Overall I lost 3/4 tank of fuel, a gallon of sweat and in need of changing my pants from fear of fire engulfing me my beloved turbo.

Probably a good idea to remove the 4 x 10mm bolts and check....btw, there is a 10mm open end in the tools kit.

Thanks again PorscheSpeedemon for covering my 6.

Its all part of the experience.. luckily it was quickly and safely resolved. This was Chance, he's a good wrench.

Now for some good news; Finally got the DAS bar, taking it to the powdercoater this weekend then the GT3 seat install :-)

OK, I knew it was either Chance or Justin...I keep forgetting their handle.

You will love those upgrades!
