Thoughts on this rear deck for my car
I actually just put the Gemballa evo Wing on my car. It's not the one you want but has a more "subdued" look... I think it's all a matter of preference and if you like it and can find one at a good price go for it! If you don't like it you can easily sell it. I've already had some offers on mine.. LOL....

Hey jag, i have been looking for a picture of the tubi large oval tips with a techart rear bumper, but nobody has come through.. Do you have pics of the rear of the car with the TA bumper with tubi tips?
thanks. Your car has always been one of my favorites.

Ok I like, it if you get the front splitter also and the entire car has more downforce.
If it was wind tunnel tested and car handles better at speed, you know the form follows function thing.
If it is just for looks and has bad aerodynamics it may actually upset the car.

But the GT2 wing is only good aerodynamically if teed up to the GT2 front end to ensure that the cars aerodynamics are as Porsche intended. Pretty sure that most other body kits do not get tunnel tested the way Porsche does all their cars. Thats why even though I am changing to Techart front and rear I am also keeping the original GT2 body parts just in case I really notice difference in handling at high speed...
keep the one you have
You have a totally awesome rear wing right now. The one you're considering is not really bad looking to me--it's just too stylized. It looks like a piece of post-modern art that you'd hang on the wall (or hide somewhere else). It's just too over the top & would actually detract from how your car currently looks. The wing you have now is just right. jaj
996TT has almost neutral net lift front to rear. The GT2 rear with a TT front will give imbalanced lift front to rear. There is another thread talking exactly about this.
"Imbalanced lift front to rear?" youll have to explain that to me... IMO, any increased negative lift or "downforce" will be helpful even if it is "imbalanced" front to rear. While I agree that the gt2 front will give added negative lift in combination with the gt2 wing when compared to the standard turbo front, the point is that the gt2 wing is an improvement... jsut my $0.02

The 996GT2 front end was claimed to reduce lift up front compared to a 996TT front end by 25%. Rear wing was claimed to reduce lift by 40% over the standard TT wing. My concern would come at high speed where the reduced lift at the rear may not be compensated up front sufficiently hence creating a very light feeling front end.
At a minimum at high speed your front end gets too light and your weighty steering that you are used to becomes very light and twitchy. Not a good thing in my opinion especially on a car that already has most of its weight up rear. I truly believe that Porsche are one of the guys that has done enough wind tunnel time to ensure that the aerodynamics are spot on. Techart, Gemballa etc rely far more on visual attributes than downright aerodynamic performance from what I understand. Not a bad thing if thats what interests you but at least we should know what we are messing with. I am going down the visual route and hence am mindful that the cars overall handling may be affected for high speed driving... if it is too much then my intention will be to go back to the GT2 kit- probably one of the aerodynamic experts could chime in if need be. Anyway, think its a bit off topic.. I like the Gemballa tail and the GT2, but for pure aesthetics I love the Techart ;P

As far as I understand it, additional downforce to rear without associated downforce on the front could provide a net potential positive lift upfront in an extreme situation. Net effect. your rear may be glued to the track but at high speed your front end could (of course in the extreme) lift off and you literally do a somersault in the air....
