resetting check engine light.. do i have to enter radio code ?

i got a CEL for no reason, prob because the gas cap wasnt tightened..

anyway, i want to clear it, and im being told to disconnect the negative on the battery.. and let it sit for 2 minutes..

is that true ?

also, do i have to enter the radio code ? i dont have it..

Best thing I ever got was an OBDII tester. Let's find out the problem, reset the code, or tell the my guys what the prob is over the phone to get them ready. Much better than pulling the power IMHO.

I have an 03 and do NOT have to enter the code for the stereo.
Apparently it's stored in the cars computer somewhere in nonvolatile memory.

You are going to have to enter the radio code. I have had to enter the code and reset all my settings even the auto windows on my '02
