AWE DV's Problem..

I installed my new DV's yesterday. Now I am getting a higher idle, and im only hitting .6-.7 boost... I was hitting .9 before I put them in.

I am wondering if I didnt tighten something enough, or I mixed something up.. Any idea?

I switched from the stock clamps that you have to open up, to fasteners that you have to tighten with a screwdriver... I am wondering if this may have been a bad idea.

Sounds like a leak somewhere to me. Are they the Bailey valves?

look for a crack in the f hose... the f hose may be loose or not properly sealed on the intake..... remove diverters apply vacuum to the diverter nipple on top and see if the piston is accuating properly
this is what i would look for

Great advice.....

Higher idle is usually caused by a vacuum leak somewhere.

a vacuum leak.... after the throttle body will result in higher idle

if a higher idle is happening look for something out of place or off/cracked on the hoses that go to the top of the diverter.... the one that sets toward the firewall is a tough one to install and maybe the hose slipped off or cracked

I just found the top of my Y pipe looks loose. I am going to try to pin that down

bavboym3 Aug 15, 2008 10:59 AM

Where is the dle supposed to be at? Mine is at about 900ish right now

bavboym3 Aug 15, 2008 11:00 AM

Ater I tighten the Y pipe I am going t see how it drives.. If this doesnt fix it.. I am going to break down the DV's and check all connections.
