oxygen sensor issue

guys i scanned my cel , and it came up as faulty oxygen sensor heater...
or something along those lines, but the word heater and oxygen sensor were in the same sentence
the location it gave was "bank 1"

what does this mean ?
do i have to change the oxygen sensor ?
also, there are two kind, one is pre-cat , and i think one is on the cat itself

which one do i need ?

thanks

btw if anyone knows where i can get them for cheap, please fill me in

There is a heater on the O2 sensors to get them to the appropriate temp at start-up. The fix is to replace the sensor. Post the actual code for more specific help.

P0135: Oxygen sensor heater in front of
catalytic converter, bank 1
P0141: Oxygen sensor heater after
catalytic converter, bank 1
P0155: Oxygen sensor heater in front of
catalytic converter, bank 2
P0161: Oxygen sensor heater after
catalytic converter, bank 2

Call me today if you still need a sensor. I've been stocking them lately.

Could be a loose connection too. If the computer sees an open connection to the heater circuit within the O2 sensor it immediately trips that code. So it could be a bad sensor, or just a loose wire. Just unplug and plug all the connectors....
