IPD Plenum installed by Turbo Mike himself!!!

First of all I wanna give a HUGE THANKS to the main IPD man himself Turbo Mike for all his expert knowledge on harnessing MORE POWER from my already fast K24/hybrids setup. I had the privelege of working side-by-side with Turbo Mike on my IPD plenum install and I gotta tell you guys, it truly was an honor to have him turning the wrenches on my 996TT. I was impressed at how swift and seamless the install was. I know it looks like a huge task but with Turbo Mike on the wrenches, it was like changing a light bulb!!

The verdict: The car moves even harder!! I thought I wouldn't feel that quick of a pull but I sure did, shoooot we both did!! We were both in the car taking turns getting behind the wheel!! I'm not sure if he was more scared in the passenger seat with me driving or if I was more scared with him driving!! It just kept on going, the power just gets up there pretty quick!! I finally got home at around 11pm last night and decided to put some VP MS109 and really let it loose. Geeeez louizze... is all I have left to say. I am one very happy 6speeder and highly recommend that anyone who was considering the IPD plenum, to consider no more, and do it.

Thanks again Turbo Mike!

Check out the pics I took during the install...

Here's my factory plenum exposed after removal of the air-box, Y-pipe, throttle body, etc.

Factory plenum removed and oil filter housing removed.

Turbo Mike installing the 75mm IPD plenum.

IPD 75mm plenum in place.

Turbo Mike installing the 75mm throttle body.

Silicone boot installed.

Complete.

Nice! Seriously considering this mod in the fall when my car goes back in the shop. Did this require you to retune the car or just run the current software?

I went to the IDP open house and met most of the guys involved in the operation. They were all good guys and put on a nice open house. Hopefully they'll do it again next year. Hint, hint.

I didn't need to "retune" the car after the install because the Motronic is adaptive. So, after the IPD plenum install we ran it hard for a few runs to "adapt" then we ran it even harder!! Thanks to Dan and his guys for their help on my setup!!

I did it myself IPD 75mm + Bored RSS TB.... Great mod !! spool up faster and I keep boost for more time at the mid range, 1.3 bar from 3,800-4,800 rpms

Before this mod was 4,000-4,600, and even more, now on 6th gear at get 1 bar at 3,000 rpms...a real sweet to drive in the highway:

Yesterday at C&C Turbo Mike kept telling me that your car pulled nonstop to redline. He warned me that you would be a force to reckon with on one of our Mexico runs. Now, bring that bad boy out with us next time.

Glad you enjoy the plenum. Mike is a great guy.

Sid thanks for the support and plug. Glad your K24/18G kit with the Softronic is working well. I had the 70mm plenum on my 996TT as well. Post up some video when you can!

Couple of quick questions for those that have installed the IPD 75mm plenum:

- Are all the bolts for the oil filter assembly accessible when the y-tube and throttle body are removed?

- Is the diverter assembly removed as well?

- What's the best way of removing the hose clamps on top of the OEM plenum?

- Any other install hints?

Thanks in advance!

Please, please, please tell me that you did a before and after dyno, or better yet before and after 60-130 runs to support your claims.
