Strange dash light issue

For the past few nights when I start up my car and turn the headlights on, I have noticed a several second delay in the dash lights. Then last night I turned the headlights on and no dash lights at all for about 15 min. Drove the car unable to see the instrument cluster then out of the blue, they just can on again. Anyone else have this issue?
Thanks in advance,
Steve

there are 3 wire harnesses connected to the instrument cluster.... there is a small procedure to take out the cluster and check.... but I doubt it as that harness has safety tabs....

Thanks, and since this is not the original cluster, it might be worth checking into.

Dadof3 is infamous around these parts
Did you get your dash lights fixed? What was the problem? I am having the same issue of the dash lights not lighting up right away. The fuse is fine. I am thinking maybe the light switch when turning on the headlight is defective and not turning on the dash lights? The dimming switch is not operative either when the dash light is not on but works as soon as the dash light come on.
