Tiptronic shifting pattern

I have a 01 C2 tip. Shifting from 1st to 2nd always happens around 6200 RPM either in M or A. All other gears always shift around 7000 RPM. 3rd to 4th shifts at 7200 RPM.

The problem with shifting from 1st at 6200 is you drop down to 4100 RPM where there is a little hesitation before the RPM's go up quickly. Is there any way to get the transmission to shift at 7K in 1st gear. I've tried disconnectiong the battery but this has no effect. Thanks.

The rev limiter on 6 speed cars is also lower in first gear than all other gears.
I believe it's because of the momentum in first because the gear is so short and reduces over revs.

I'm sure it is "as designed" by Porsche.

There is a whole thread here on type 2 overrevs that discusses it.

I THINK I heard that a transmission service/builder can change the shift points on the tips.. I think its was protomotive or renntech.. sorry I dont remember.

I had it reprogrammed with an upsolute chip about 4 years ago. I think that's why it shifts at 7200 RPM from 3rd to 4th. My battery has died a few times and I've disconnected the - on the battery when I had the EVO intake (no extra hp but sounds cool) Fabspeed Maxflow exhaust and headers put on ( again no new hp, but sounds great) and IPD plenum but in (I'm doing a dyno to determine any extra HP).

I believe shift points can be changed through the TCU. I would contact Todd@proto or Scott@softronic.
