MRE is infamous around these parts
I have driven my 02 between 40 and 80 miles 9 months out of the year for almost 7 years with few issues. I track it 12-15 days a year. The car now has 63k. It is not a financial investment for me. It is an investment in myself. The more I drive and enjoy the car, the better the return on investment.

Maybe down the road it will be but right now, you can't beat the smile off my face when I turn the key it the TT.
Very well put.

I have had concern as well about mileage, and I have come to this. For the past 3 years I have been driving a brand new Infiniti M35. The car is beautiful and has amazing creature comforts. But is no driving car... There is no fun in my life when I drive it. I'm still a pretty young guy at 31 years old, and I love cars and performance cars.

I am purchasing a 996TT here this month or by October, and my concern was miles that I would have on the car when I get it. I am looking at one now that has about 30K miles on it - but it's the car that I want - with the options I want. I am going to drive it daily. I will have about a 40 - 50 mile commute round trip to my office, which is mostly highway - and wide open .

At first I was concerned about resale or value after I had owned it for 3 years, but lets be honest... These cars are depreciating daily. I love what was said above - I would rather drive it and have it depreciate - then just look at it. I am ready for a car to drive - and something to put a smile on my face. I will be doing mods to it and working on it - thats part of the fun for me...

So in my opinion - get it. Drive it.. Enjoy it. It may be worth less in a couple of years down the road, but the fun factor seems to really outweigh the resale worries.

Thats my take.

Mileage to work

With the great prices on 996tt, its the only car that comes to mind, that would give you so much joy, and on the weekends more fun. I have a few friends that have over 100,00. on their twins. As for resale, well its all what a person buy the car for in the first place. As all know mileage most of the time figures into resale.
