Yesterday, some guy pitching for my business was telling me how he traded in his C4 for one of those new Volvo S40R's.

I had the biggest grimace on my face when he told me that. I was in shock. I said, "How could you POSSIBLY do something like that?"

He said, "Well, this thing is fast, it's got 300 Horsepower."

I said, "Dude, all I have to say to you is this: THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE!"

I think he got it.

 

I meet Hamann in person, he is a super nice guy, his passion for cars is very real, I am suprised with some of his replies, I never figured him for this much of a Porsche nut.
I'm sure Allan is a cool guy as well.

Go figure, considering that you and I are both BMW alumni!!!

 

I looked at Lambchops before we got the Turbo, but I like actually driveing cars versus looking at them. A 2 year-old Lambo looks like it has been through a war. They may be great performing cars and all, but damn the products they use to fabricate the interior and what not are ****. As they say "There is no Substitute!"

Porsche pride is sweet I love seeing other P cars on the road and waving to each other.

I can't imagin trading a Porsche for anything let alone a Volvo.

 

Why do people keep quoting what pro race drivers can do with fast cars around some track. How many people on this board or any board can drive like a Phil Bennett or even a washed-out race driver? I bet if we were to drive those exact same cars our numbers will come out very different, perhaps the complete opposite.

15 year olds like to blab about what the car mags say. We adults should just blab about our bank account, our own track times, and our driving records.

 

That's what I like about people like Jay Leno. He looks at the lambo and he buys it. He looks at the porsche, the gt40, the ferrari, the SLR, and he buys 'em too.

People like us have to diss other cars that we can't afford to own too.

What'll Jay say about us if he reads this thread?
