staight pipes with no cats= obscenely loud and not enjoyable while driving. Sometimes I like the straight pipes (w/cats though), sometimes I wish it were quieter.

Tom, are you running cat's or is it free all the way. I have the Fabspeed high flow cats and straight pipes and I do like the sound and I think it is just right. It has a drone at about 2200 to 2400 and then it tapers off to reasonable at 2700 and above.

I think Tom is talking more of a balance issue. Taking 40 lbs off the *** makes a huge difference to weight balance as opposed to removing headliner in the center of the car.

SMR, where was the peak drone at with your system?

Sean,

Considering the number of times we have been together, I can't believe you have never looked at my exhaust. It might be what you are looking for. You have the choice of straight pipes (for racing) or a muffled exhaust (for the neighborhood) at the flip of a switch. Imagine an exhaust with a valve right before the 90 degree turn that diverts the exhaust gases directly out the rear bumper, completely bypassing the muffler. Two different systems exist. Get either a Kreissieg F1 or a 9ff Variotune Gen II like mine and have the best of both worlds.

Is my 70 mm EP loud w/ cat delete too restrictive for my power levels (680 or so on race, 590 or so on pump)?

true but SMR has a car 200 pounds lighter than mine, so hats off to him!!

I have AP aftermarket headers and initially ran the Fabspeed 100 cell cats and straight pipes. then switched to just straight pipes, honestly couldnt tell much difference.

the turbos muffle alot. stand beside a 996 with headers and straight pipes the noise is unbearable!!

Fabspeeds cats are confusing. I hear that they are 200 cel then I hear that they are 100 cell.

I have the latest incarnations of the fab cats but I have no clue if they are 100 or 200.

What I do know is that one of the guys in our driving group has the straight pipes on his turbo and although it is louder the difference isn't much.

I wonder how much confort SMR took out of the car to get to 200 lbs less?
