Front Differential Chewed due to incorrect wheel/tire se up
lots of useful information, subscribed
i'm kindof confused now. i know lots of people run 235/35 19 and 315/25 19 (since i thought that was the stock GT2 setup?)
so i'm running 235/35 19 and 315/25 19 on Yoko AVS Sport (old tires, I don't even think they make them anymore) on TechArt wheels, is the combo that I'm running incorrect? i don't want an expensive repair bill for my differential

The tires that you are using, 235/35 19, 315/25 19, are the correct sizes for the 996. Using the correct diameter tires is very important on the all wheel drive cars as front differential damage will occur. The 997 GT2 uses 235/35 19 and 325/30 19.
Yes. We all recommend using tires. As above,
whatever you do, make sure the fronts and
rears are very close to the same documented
diameter.
For appearance, as you want.
19" wheels will make the ride harsher, and put more
shock load on the shock-absorbers. Spacers are
not recommended for ultimate mechanical stability
but for cruising around they should be fine.
Yes 997 Turbo wheels will work on 996 Turbo. The correct tires are 235/35 19 front and 315/25 19 rear. Yes you should use spacers. 5-7mm front and 7-15mm rear. The ride will be firmer due to the shorter sidewall of the tire. Turn-in will be sharper however you will sacrifice some grip at the limit and under acceleration out of a corner.
Alan, how are 235/40/18 and 315/30/18 for a 996TT? 235's are 25.4" and 819revolutions, and 315's are 25.5" and 817 revolutions. If these sizes are not correct, what would you recommend for 18" stock wheels?
Just trying to avoid confusion.
A
Fine to use that size
Yes that is correct, 997 Turbo wheels will work, 997 rear tires will not.
Alan, the 996 TT brings factory 5mm front and 15mm rear spacers in the sportechno wheels 18 originals.
Wich is your recommendation spacers in the 997 TT wheels change?
I can used this spacers in the news wheels?

my car came with factory sport techno wheels 18" originals. i recall only 15mm rear spacer, no 5mm front spacer
