Factory Tour in Stuttgart

Guys,

Yesterday I joined a 90 minute free factory tour of the Porsche assembly line in Stuttgart. It was an incredible experien that all Porsche fanatics must do at least once in their lifetime. They are producing only 911's in Stuttgard and complete on every 5 minutes.

I did this tour (and the museum as well)...when I was there they were just going into pre-production of the 996TT...they had sections of the factory sealed off. Very informative.

I saw the museum which was a bit small but the new "huge" museum will open in 2010. I was able to see the whole assembly line for the 997 except for the section where the engine was installed into the car. They also showd us the engine assembly plant which assembles all the engines for Porsches from Boxters to 911 to the Cayennes. It was an incredible experience and all those who visit Germany should drop by. I will have to do it again when my sons get a bit older.

I'm about to relocate to Stuttgart to work for the DoD and that tour is the 1st thing on my list to do. Well maybe second to buying a 03-04 turbo. Glad you had a good time!

It is an incredible experience. The only thing that come close is 1. Getting Married, 2. Having Children and 3. Buying your first Porsche. I am not sure on the order but it is in the top 4.
