My day at the 1/4 mile track
1800-2000 any more i would blow the tires. i tried to feather it one pass and then smash it and blew them away. that track was in the 40- 44 today. no mater what i tired it wouldn't bite.
Those tires actually work quite well for drag racing in AWD configuration, we've cut good 60's on PS2s, both the stock sizes PS2s (1.61) and 19" PS2s (1.68). At 40-45 degrees you won't find many tires that can hook, as the track is dead cold. Take a pyrometer and find out what the track temps are when it's that cold out vs tire temps to compare. A hot track (over 100) is bad, but a cold track is just as bad, especially when you're making a ton of extra HP.

Good Point Wes no one was hooking there today i mean maybe 25% of guys were that had suspension work and a real sticky tire. I have had the car hook hard on the street when it was 70 outside.. man i miss that weather already!!
my teeth were chatter'n watchin today... IT was cold... the wind wasnt helping.
As for shift points any higher would yield higher times.. Been there.. done it. That kit works best with those shift points. His problem was traction not the rest. HE does have a ten in that set up! Just need more traction and bit of fine tweak'n! He knows what im talking about...!

Why didn't you run some better gas and turn it up to 1.3 bars ...

Yea it was a good day, Corey did well and I was happy to see him represent. The car has more in, I have do doubt about it.It was a little too cold for almost any tire. The MPH is there , getting the power to ground is the key.I think we will have one more weekend to get the car into the 10's, and as I said the car has it in it.Good day!
I am glad to hear this result. Best 60 foot I got from my PS2's were 1.8 on 19" rims. Do you think this matters?

Can someone please chime in hear that has experience with the k24/18g's or a Proto650 tune? Why would the shift points be what appears to be so low as mentioned above 6200-6000-6100, when like in my case the rev limiter has been raised to 7200-7500ish and I typically shift closer to those #'s thinking that I am getting more push. Am I not? Is it only in my head? Is is possible my times would be better if I shifted earlier?
