That small hot side housing gives great early torque and no lag. Unless you are doing a fuel system, I still think a K16 based hybrid is the way to go.

agreed. I guess if you want to go to 700 whp plus, you need the bigger turbo, otherwise, there really is no reason.

of course more fueling does help our k16's as well

I have some reservations regarding whether the restrictive nature of a K16 housing (the same small volume that gives that lovely torque and boost-onset) can flow enough CFM to support over 650 crank.
But I love being wrong. It means I get to learn something new and change my assumptions.

I don't think 650 crank is a problem, you might be close to that now, I think that maybe 750 crank might be, but I think a lot of that depends on the compressor. But like you I am not sure.
