Widebody

I have some questions. Because its buggin the hell out of me. First, what does it take to make a wide body car in general. And second, could I use a techart full body kit on a wide body car somehow? Please give me details. Thank you

Lots of ways to go here....

You could graft metal extensions onto the panels of the car to widen what you have...it'd be expensive and a good body shop would be subtle with it and I can hook you up with the shop that did the widebody on my M3.

Another alternative is to buy the fenders, bumpers and quarter panel skins from a turbo (assuming yours is not a factory widebody) and have those mounted...also expensive.

I have a friend who did a custom widebody on his Toyota Supra and the total work was about $30K, including paint, to do it in metal, all handcrafted.

I'm sure someone here can advise of the parts needed to convert a non widebody 996 into a widebody and perhaps give some ballpark dollar amounts.

To see my widebody M3, go to www.moviecarz.com

Sure you could....but that would be a challenge

If you placed stock 996TT body work on it, it would be a bit easier.

To be sure, call Joe at Backyard Creations (562 area code, I think).

This is his specialty. He works in metal, fiberglass and carbon fiber. Truly one of the best kept secrets in North America.
