Nice review Michael. I am glad to hear that your new GT3 is giving you so much pleasure. Thanks for passing on your thoughts to us. You came to a conclusion that gets no argument from me.

Like you, the more I track my TT, the more I realize that what I really want for the track is a lighter, dedicated track car. I like my TT for all of the same reasons you listed, so my original plan was get a GT3 and keep the TT too. But the more I think about it, the more it makes sense for me to buy a Cup Car for my track needs. That way I have the best of both worlds -- a great street car in the TT and an uncompromised track car with elevated levels of both fun and safety in the Cup Car.

If I had to choose one car, then my choice would come down to the TT or the GT3 as well and I'd probably short circuit during the process. Glad to see that you made your choice and survived

Mike, Nice to see you Friday at Silver Star. Always a pleasure to talk to you. Great review!!
The rubbing sound may be due to a brake cooling duct that is not positioned properly. Stop by and let me take a look at it. Thom M

I have that rubbing sound as well. I don't have a GT3 but I have GT3 sways on my ROW tt. The mechanic said that there was one additional piece that has to come in but that I could use the car as is. I didn't tell him about the rubbing sound as of yet though.

Great write up Mike -

I had the chance to drive Mike's GT3 as well when he first got it and it is a fantastic car I must agree, but for me the TTx50 is just right.

I use my TT as a daily driver now and enjoy having the luxury, the light clutch and the gobs of power whenever I feel the urge for a quick spurt.

The GT3 from my obsverations is the best track/street car combo out there today -

Mike, nice perspective. It's interesting...when I track my TT, I often wonder if I should sideline the CUP tires in an effort to acheve more of the "driver involvement" that I experienced with the 911's of the past. It sounds like the GT3 brings this level of excitement to the game. While I would not trade the AWD grip on the street for anything in the world, I can sure appreciate your love for the characteristics that are felt with a rear engine racer.

Funny you mentioned the soft a$$ clutch of the TUrbo. If I ever decide to keep this car for good, the first thing that I'll do is to rip out the soft a$$ no feel clutch and replace it with the GT2 clutch.

Of all the cars I have driven, believe it or not, I think that my 88 E30 325is has the best clutch in terms of grab and feel.

I think my '82 VW rabbit has the best clutch feel. Connects like a charm even in the steep frisco hills.
