1. Isn't that Zanzibar Red? If so, that's an ULTRA rare color and I'd love to have it (although that car has toooo many miles for that price).

2. DC Motors is actually about 3 miles from my house - I've been by a couple times. They seem to specialize in high end luxury cars that have either high miles or are not taken care of. They're after the low price-point market I think.

3. Pierre - 198 MPH!!! I wish I had my car in Germany right now! I've never topped 135 on the track (willow springs) or around 130 on the freeways here. What do you do to put so many miles on your car?

Pierre,

You're my hero. People marvel at your 319kph. I marvel at your 183,000km. That is prove that Porsches have always been built to be driven, long and hard. People that pamper that Porsches and sell them with less than 20k miles just don't get the point of owning and "driving" a Porsche.

Owning a Porsche means "Till death due us apart"

I should sell that line to Porsche.

Btw, I'd love to meet you and your car some day if I ever vacation there again.

trjanman: What do I do?... I drive around! Seriously, I'm driving a lot across Switzerland to meet customers, business-partners (and for fun too!), etc. Of course, only a few of them know I own a Porsche. Besides that, I track it quite a lot, and since we have no race-track in the country, we always have to drive to France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, etc. And the Turbo is my daily-driver, whatever the conditions are (dry, snow, rain, you name it). All in all, I put about 53'000-55'000 km per year on the car.

collin996tt: hey, glad to know I'm your hero! And if you're in Europe someday, just let me know, and I'll be happy to meet you!

Greetings,
--Pierre

How long do you plan to keep the car for?
Will you rebuild/replace the engine when it goes?

Collin, I don't know for how long I'll keep it. Hard to say. I'll for sure have a close look at the 997 GT3 and 997 Turbo when they'll come out. The GT3 is rumored to come next year, and the Turbo in '06. So this gives me some time to pass the 200'000 km mark...

Will I rebuild the engine?... Welllll, we'll see that then. Maybe it'll stay fit for 2 more years?...

Pierre, I wish you loads of fun!

Greetings,

I used to go to DC motors often, never would buy anything off them though, shady guys. They will rip you off as much as they can and they buy their cars for next to nothing, because they usually are worth next to nothing. All their tt's are overpriced, they do have a very nice SLR in however.
