Jeff,

I hate to say it, but I agree with englishbull911. Go with a Porsche specific seat, like the euro GT3 - it looks much better and they work great. The Porsche crest headrest is a nice option on the OEM GT3 seats, too. It ties the seats to the car well.

John, can you get an 8 yo in back with gt3 euro seats.....and once he grows, perhaps a small wife?

That is the crux of the issue. Not often needed...but it is nice to have it there when needed. At some point the car goes away as a 4 person car, but for now, I took all four of us to lunch by the beach last weekend. It was a blast to drive A1A in the car....

What I need are the OEM gt2 seats and perhaps a winning lottery ticket to afford them. Porsche, make the seats cost 1200 each please! I'll give up the airbags....

What we do forget is that even lambo seats are not that great (left)....my stock seats are about the same.

F430 seats are better, but need harness holes (right picture).

Bride made very nice seat, but I too agree they're belongs to JDM world. We can do a reclinable 997GT3 style seat in natural brown for mid $2K range. Just like the pic on last page. It is Porsche style, reclinable, Carbon shells, harness holes and color match as well.

Same car, same interior, just different lenses and lighting at time of photo. I'd say the top picture is more like the real thing than the bottom one.

Jeff,

I installed a roll bar with the seats, so I never tried to use the rear seats. Based on perception, when the GT3 seat is moved fully forward, I feel a child could easily get into the rear. A small wife could probably manage, as well. It would be a bit of a pain moving the seats all the time to get in and out of the rear, but if it's for occasional use, then I think it could work fine.

The Bride Gias are good quality and much cheaper than sya recaros. IMO would look fine in a porsche, but then again, I do come from a jdm base. Can't remember if they come in leather/suade. Similar issue is I worry the adjuster ***** on the sides wouldn't clear the center console and b-pillar much the same way Misanos dont. But a member mentioned plastic under the carpet can be cut away, any more info here?

GT3 reclineables (maxspeed) look really nice as well. Could do with one bucket and one reclineable on pass side. Any updates whether those were successfully installed?

Came across these "997 carbon sport seats - black leather" online and wondering if anyone's tried them. price is reasonable.

that's prob. true but to add to that. a reclineable would allow the back portion to adjust forward thus giving pass in rear more room while retaining desired footwork position... and might help the rear pass from scratching those lovely carbon shells

Any further adds to this thread.....or has all been said.
Seems many keep coming back to OE GT3.....good product.

Anyone hazard a guess as to time involved for install & removal of GT3s on track weekends?....as I don't think they'd be the ticket for me Mon-Thurs.

I wish there were more alternatives (that accomodated full harness compliment..sub belts....seems that's not been mentioned here). I'm less concerned about the reclining thing.......ideally like a seat that's a tad more user-friendly (getting in-out).....after the weekend.

if you are looking for seats I have some
Recaro Speeds and Sports for sale

they are very comfortable and have the provisions for racing harnesses.
