Advice for Suspension Install?
Advice for Suspension Install?
Ok so my PSs finally came today and I put them on and they ROCK hard over the yoko avs sports I had and now its time to put the PSS9's in that I have had sitting in my shop for months now.
Anybody got any pointers, advice, or tips for me on the install? Especially with taking the rear interior apart, etc... I've done 100's of suspensions over the years but this its my 1st 996...
I'll be doing my own corner weights, and aligment setup as well...so feel free to share #s.
Thanks In Advance....

PSS9's
The interior is quite easy to get out if you don't have the Bose option if you have the bose that box has to come out 1st.
I have installed several PSS9's in 996 and 993's and there are not that difficult. Trick is to set up the heights and drive around for a bit and then come back recheck (and adjust) then to alignments.

I've done my suspension 3 times... here're a few things that I found helpful.
Have an impact wrench. I used an inexpensive Harbor Freights 220 ft.lb. rechargeable impact wrench that worked great.
Unbolt the front 1/2 shafts at the front dif to make front installation easier and more efficient (allen bolts). There's also a triangle-shaped steel plate/bracket that needs to be partially unbolted and rotated aside to loosen the suspension arm... it'll be clear when you look at it. I didn't do this the first two times, and it cost me a lot of time.
Rear is very straight forward.
It's not too much off from doing VW or Audi suspensions.
