Non-Porsche high HP tuned cars

How do the Supra, Evo, WRX etc deal with tuning especially when getting to the >600 hp range?

Are they cheaper to tune, easier to maintain, more drivable?? Aside from style and the intrinsic value of having a 911 Turbo, is there any advantage the Turbo has over other popular tuner cars?

IMO, you can't be putting a Supra TT in the same category as an EVO or WRX/STi. i love them...and would get one nowadays as a dd...but in terms of making hp and being reliable, i dont think you can beat a supra when talking about tuner cars. at 600hp+, i feel things on the evo/sti would go...esp. when talking about the trans...whereabouts both the motor and the getrag trans on the supra have been proven to be bulletproof...last record i remember was 980rwhp on a stock supra block...and im sure it has been beat by now...

anyway in short, the supra is a great one to mod...

How about a b5 s4? This was my 500+ wheel hps daily driver.

You can buy them for $8000-12000 now a days.

We do a lot of Subaru's and Evo's and they can be very reliable, but as with any car it all depends on a lot of factors IE.- Tuning, Parts ETC.

We have an Evo running around with a 40r that did just a hair under 500hp on our dyno at 24psi on 91oct and it still runs like a top. He ran our motors in time attacks, drag racing for years without a problem.

Supras make easy big HP and can be reliable. It all depends on setup but I'd say a 800hp setup can be super reliable and driven frequently (race gas or E85 needed), once you get over 1,000 then it's still reliable in it's own sense but does require a bit of frequent maintenance, mostly oil/plugs changes.

There are plenty of big power S2000,Evos, etc running around here that make big power and reliable, but with anything (996tt included) quality parts, gas and a good tune-up should always be used.
