Was a close ratio transmision an option for 996 TT?

N2SPEED is infamous around these parts
Was a close ratio transmision an option for 996 TT?

I can't find any indication it was, but looking at a car that the owner says it was a factory option for 2001-2001.

Did not come as an option. Can't even remember when was the last time this was available from Porsche.

the car comes with a close ratio transmission from the factory

You don't want short gears on the Turbo... I considered a 997GT3RS Box recently and decided against it!... 1st & 2nd are similar... 3rd through to 6th is a different matter... you would be forever shifting and not getting the full benefit of the Turbo... some have shorter ratio's up top due to track work but that would be it!

The TT needs a taller first and second. Not shorter.
