Since for some reason my browser will not display the vbulletin buttons necessary for posting the photos, I put them in my member gallery.

Let me know what you think...

What's amazing is that the car doesn't even look dated. It looks as though it could have come of the production line like two-three years ago! The 959 was definately ahead of its time.

Btw, I love it stock, but have never seen a 959 w/ aftermarket wheels, makes me wonder now

Awesome pics, Deanger.

Three paragraphs from the latest Autoweek cover story on the 959's being federalized and upgraded by Bruce Canepa under the show and display regulations:

"The engine produces 575hp at 6000 rpm, and 501 lb-ft of torque at 4500 rpm."

"Canepa has undertaken back-to-back tests with his modified 959 and a new RUF GT2. The RUF turned 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and took 11.9 seconds to reach 100mph. The 959 goes from a standstill to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds and reaches 100 mph in 11.4 seconds. Top speed of the 959 is 215."

"We're maintaining a McLaren F1 GTR," says Canepa, "and after driving both cars, there's just no comparison. The McLaren skips and jumps all over the place. The 959 just squats and goes."

I love it! What an amazing car. Enjoy!

No doubt that thing is amazing... some many cues came from it for the 993TT and 996TT.

From what I understand the 959 was used to showcase what can be done with the 911 platform. This was back when the 928 & 944 were supposed to be the new flagships that were destined to replace the 911. So in a manner of speaking, the 959 helped save the 911 series.

now that car is EVIL. i was leaving the gelson's parking lot when for no reason my 959 reared up and punched me in the mouth and the rear end broke loose. then it forced me to vote democratic, buy a volvo and sell my guns and put a feinstein sticker on my new volvo.
i did nothing wrong and it attacked me

Watt,

Any Volvo driver, selling guns to help keep his buddy all secure and comfy in his Sacramento office AND wearing an ugly lady sticker deserves a punch in the mouth. WATTS all that got to do with the totally awesome 959?
