blow off valves (dvs)
blow off valves (dvs)
yep i know this is a repost , but i'm looking for some new ideas,
heres the deal in days of old i could hear my dvs (a loud woosh) installed evos piping to the turbos and woooooo great hp increase butttt no woosh. am told that if the dvs don't open it may cause turbo damage.
heres what i, we"ve done to no avale .. cleaned the forge dvs, replaced all the hoses have scilone hoses and f hose. the computer sez they are opening (could be that the electronics say it's opening but are they?) according to my tech they open at idel but i can't hear them ever. prior to the evo piping i always heard them..that was the only change ... hope someone has an idea thanks in advance. oh evo sez they should be louder is it my hearing ?

Take them out... you can pressurize them to see where they open...

Steve,
I don't think there is anything wrong with your DV's, as far as the sound is concerned. Several of us that have gone to the EVO hard piping have experienced the same as you. It's normal. My car made a very pronounced whoosh sound before I put the EVO pipes on and it virtually disappeared as soon as the pipes were installed. I have also recently changed my DV's, as my Baileys were leaking last spring and it didn't change anything, as far as the whoosh sound you are describing. Still very faint with new DV's.
