Quote: Actually, we ran it again after I got the exhaust on. It cranked out about 505 awhp on Tony's heartbreaker mustang. We never posted the graph because no one was believing us as it was.
505awhp on a mustang dyno!

Isn't that close to 530-540awhp on a dynojet type dyno?

Good to see great numbers... the no shift ( 4th gear) only helped a bit but that is a 16g for you

He does not have the Gs plotted so hard to tell for sure... but from the look of the gragh its a no shifter... otherwise the red line would flatten.... even during a shift... The Gs would drop between shifts to somewhere around 0...

Hey Markski. I remembered one shift, but I took a look at the .dbn file to confirm. There was one shift that started at 89 mph and was done at 91.7mph (.38 secs). The longitudinal g's drop from .6 to .169 at the shift.
The posted graph is plotted on a large spread of long. g values so it's a little hard to read.

Best,
Michael

Michael and Tony, this is a fantastic time congratulations!! It makes me question going to an 18/24 set up. Was this done without fueling or intake mods?

Boost is not the only factor that needs to be taken into consideration while tuning. If a car is tuned with the intent of running higher boost on pump gas, ignition timing, fueling and requested load and torque all need to be mapped accordingly. The factory knock control system needs to be altered (sensitivity turned up and rpm ranges scales) so that additional safe guards can be added to the programing.

There is no such thing as a truely "self adjusting map" this is why it is important to run a file that has been tuned for your specific octane level, boost level and in some cases environmental conditions.

We now have numerous k16/16g kits and k24/18g kits running 1.3 bar + daily.

Correct. This is the limits of the stock fuel system, producing 610-620 crank hps.

Could someone expect to see similar numbers on a well tuned K24 setup? I've heard people say the k16/16gs don't have quite the potential of k24s, true or no?
