Trying to replace diveter valves and I cant get the clamp of the valve itself,
I tried a 6mm socket as recomended on awe info, and the socket popped off and fell down into the abyss, I cant see it anywhere, where did it go? Is it a problem? Will it interfere with any moving parts down there,? Will it fall out some day? And how the f do I get the clamps off the div. valve?...This is why I should have taken it to a mechanic...
Those things are a PITB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Patience my friend, you are at the hardest part of a job with many hard parts. What you need to do is try and loosen it just enough to rotate it towards you so you can clamp it easier. I tore one of the hoses (that was already a little torn, but I ripped it to shreds) trying to get those clamps off.

There's a cheap pair of large needle nosed pliers that have about a 90 degree or so bend in the jaws....you can buy a cheapie pair from Harbor Freight or some place that sell those cheap chinese knockoffs. Those pliers allow you to get behind that damn back hose and onto the nubs on the clamp. The clamp is facing towards the front of the car...put there by a German engineer who just wanted to **** off the DIY guys. As Chevy said, you need to rotate it forward so that you can see the nubs and then slide it up and back onto the hose. Once you get that one off, the rest is fairly easy. If you tear up the F hose, I have a good one I took off mine that I'll be willing to give you....otherwise you can use the same one. Some guys go to the SAMPCO fancy colored ones, but I didn't find it necessary unless you tear it. Also do yourself a favor and swap out those clamps for the stainless screw type and orient the philips head so you can get to it from the backside of the car. If when you get it all together you notice something is not right with the boost...it means you have one of the connections sucking air. You didn't screw anything up... just go back in and recheck your clamps connections. It's really not that bad a deal as long as you get by that back clamp. And be sure to buy the diverters that have a 90 degree hose connection on the top rather than come straight up.
IMO the best thing to do to save yourself a huge headache is to just destroy everything in the process of ripping them out, then replace as needed. You should get a new f-hose anyway, and there are better ways of routing if you go for a 1 BOV solution.
