FVD flash, BMC, div valves, 2002 otherwise stock, I am only hitting 0.7-0.8bar
Which is what I was hitting before the flash. Waited to do div vlaves at different time so as not to confuse any boost issue. Car feels stronger with more pull but I have only put 700 miles on it before I did the flash, so its hard to tell. FVD says could be small leak some where but the boost never changed. If there was a leak wouldnt you see 0.6 before flash? Not the same before and after. This boost is at full throttle in 2nd and 3rd gear from 3000-6000rpm. Any way to test for leaks? Any chance boost gauge is inaccurate? Any ideas?
I had the FVD stage 2 flash for a few years and the most I ever saw was .9 - .8 is normal for that flash.

After thinking a little more about this, I had one of the first FVD 996TT flashes back in 2002. I believe they recently went to a Softronic flash or something other than what I had, so my experience is not relavent to todays FVD flashes.

I had that exact setup up until like a week ago till i switched to K24s. Basically stage 2 FVD flash on K16s, stock exhaust, AWE DVs, BMC Intake.
In 1st and 2nd I could see around 1.0-1.2 bar but in 3-6th I could occasionally see 1.3 bar. These numbers are in ~20-40 degree weather.

Using the WMW flashe AND the UMW wastegate upgrade kit along with the upgraded DV's and Europipe stage 1, I'm getting a consistent 1.1 and 1.2 bar output....but the wastegate kit seemed to be the most critical component of the higher boost. It seems that the system just can't sustain the 1.2 bar without the upgraded springs.
I don't think the original poster has a K24 car.
I believe the expected boost is 1.0 BR on flashed K16 cars.
And I agree fully that anything over 1.0 BAR sustained really requires a wastegate upgrade. It's a simple mechanical matter.
If you think about it, the factory springs are picked very well by the factory to act as safeguard.
