Nice. I have HRE's and was going to do the "ever so popular" powder coat the centers black with a polished lip, but everyone says NOT to take them apart myself and HRE wants quite a bit to do it. So polished they stay. Yours look awesome, but look hard to keep clean. Aren't the RG5's lighter?

What are the A/F ratios? Can you post the dyno. Do you have stock injectors? ONLY a 5 bar for fuel with k24/18g and your running rich? Something does not sound right? Did your first motor grenade from running lean?

What's going on guys! Hope all is well. I don't think I'll be able to put the videos up till later tonight or tomorrow morning! Dentist kicked my butt today.....

Not only is Ricks car a piece of ART, it's also a BEAST! It made some very stong numbers. Just shy of 500RWHP. I believe once Rick does some data-logging and fine tuning he will be over 500+/500+ easily!!! Next time you make it through Dallas, please come stop by and say Hello! You're always welcome!!! That goes for all you guys...

Okay the numbers... 483 hp at the wheels... 529 ft lbs of torque... Factor in the 25% drivetrain loss for the all wheel drive and converter slipage for the tiptronic and I should be putting out a pinch over six hundred hp at the crank... not too shabby! After an easy launch at 2000 rpm's the car ran a 12 flat in the quarter mile.

More importantly, what was your trap speed?

congrats on your car running (well) again

+1 . That's an important metric i would be interested in seeing as well. It tells us some part of the story.

Based on the online calc below, which is just a guestimate, the hp needed to run that mph is pretty close to what is done if you assume 3700 lbs. calc shows 486 rwhp and that is not accounting loss for awd, so the numbers dynoed seem to be pretty close to actual.

That's good to know! Thanks for the info! Everyone knows that MD Dyno's are the cream of the crop, especially a Dual AWD MD set up. MD factors a variance of .10 of a second of accuracy for the 1/4 mile runs. I have seen some cars do 10 sec's 1/4's on our set up with incorrect factors, is that correct? NO!. But with a car like a 996 TT. We just enter the info given by the DMV which will give you a accurate run. Do I believe that Rick's car is an 11 second car? Yes! I think there is some more hidden in his tune! I guess there is only one way to find out, Rick when are you coming back?

I am sure that babied off the line accounts for a solid half second.

With all these mods ...he should be well into 125+ trap speeds.
Stock 996TT: 116 - 118
Flashed k16 : 120-123
K16/16g: 123- 128
K24/18g: 128+

This is what i have seen so far. It also depends on the launch, driver tuning etc...too many variables. But the above is a good target.

Also this calculator doesnt make sense.. maybe i am doing something wrong.

Okay i key in my car weight with driver 3700lbs and to get to a 120 trap it says i need 499 whp. I am already trapping 120 mph + with just 400 whp and 480 TQ on a k16 flash.

Also for a 116 mph trap ( stock) it says i need 450 whp.

These calculators are by no means accurate. But they are close. It really is all in how you drive the car. you can loose a lot of time and speed just by launching and shifting easy. I am sure he could pick up some of both, but again I don't know the deal with Tips. Also I calced 3700lbs loaded, but tips are heavier so this may not be correct.

12.02 @ 119 mph... again the car was launched at 2,000 RPM's. I don't know how good of a light Ben cut on the Dyno, but I know there's still some hp/time left to go get. The car is running rich as shown by the Dyno and I have no doubt about it as my exhaust tips have been much sootier looking since the mods and get that way pretty quick after a car wash since the mods.
