It's great to see that a nice steering wheel can bring all of us Tiptronic guys together!

Have been using the RUF version for some time. One thing to note is that the clearance is very limited between the paddles and the indicator stalk which can be a bit of a pain. You really only end up using the very tips of the paddles at best.

But still far superior to the original wheel.

Do you have any pictures of your wheel?

If you see on my last picture there is a pretty good/big clearance.. Have not noticed any issues with that.. Maybe my wheel has a longer hub..?

996TT Maverick,

Your wheel has a 12mm extension. All of our tiptronic hubs come standard like that.

Thanks,
Rhonda

That is really slick! I'm a little disappointed, though. I've got a manual, and I thought this was a pneumatic actuation on the gearbox controlled by the paddles, ala SMG or the Ferrari system. If that was available I'd be all over it.

Nice mod!
I seriously consider this mod myself. Coming from a manual turbo, it's hard to get used to the factory tip switches during intense cornering.

Harold,

Although I would be happy to help you I am not sure which Ruf wheel you have etc. I would contact Ruf directly to find out your options.

Thanks,
Rhonda

+1. I would also be very interested in this mod. I just recently moved up to an '04 996TT Tip from an '06 M5 SMG, and IMHO, the paddles on the M5 were superier to the Porsche rocker switches in the wheel.

Hey Guys,

Look what I found on e-bay. Looks like a "similar" setup with more detailed pictures. Also you cannot beat the price. I'm on a recession friendly budget and "unnecessary" mods are on hold for now so I'm passing this gem to you guys.
