996 newbie

Hello all~
Figured I would do a quick intro, just picked up my black 996 earlier this week.....absolutely love the car. Its my first Porsche (yea, going back to the high school dream of owning a 911 turbo before I turn 40). Last car was a 2006 E55 AMG, loved the car but I get the new car itch every 2-3 yrs so I sold her.

I'm in the NoVa area and try to be pretty active with the car meet scene in the summer so I look forward to learning from all you about this new beast I just purchased :-)

Interesting the crossover. I too am an E55 owner. Still am. My E55 is now my wife's car, although we trade back and forth.

Not a bad deal. Hmm, 996TT or E55. What's my mood.

Occasionally I drive my daughter's Prius, just to remind me how good it could be.

Re: Mods IMHO:
  • 1.2 bar Flash From Kevin at UMW, you will learn who he is
  • 100 or 200 cell Cats and Pipes (FabSpeed) but look for lightly used they are a lot cheaper
  • Wastegate 1 bar Actuators. (Working on a DIY if you are up to it)

Yea, the learning curve (and purse strings) are going to be steep on this one......so tell me more about these particular mods and what I can expect to see in hp gains/cost? Embarassed to admit I have no idea who UMW is or where they are located.
