02 996 Turbo X50

Hi all,

I'm new to the site. Just picked up a used 02 996 tt X50. I live in Hong Kong and I am thinking of going with Cargraphics Bilstien airlift kit, cargraphics carp96tets exhaust, techart GT street full body kit. Still debating what kind of rims to get. I would like to know if anyone can help out. what is the big difference in modding a X50 compared to a normal 996 turbo. I understand the turbos are bigger. Any suggestions? I would like to mod the engine later once i'm done with the looks and sound of the car. Nothing too crazy since it is very hard to drive fast in HK.

Thanks guy!

This is an X50 on street gas. Flash, Wastegates (definitely do), diverters (blow off valves), exhaust

Nothing really different about modding - you start with a little more horsepower - GIAC has a great ECU.

Same basic recommendation as ARI....you have the X 50 which lends itself well to some basic mods that really make a difference. First of is a flash...there are different opinions on this...but I went with UMW as well as their wastegate kit...you'll definitely need a clutch because the flash will eat your clutch in a short period of time. So, like ARI...flash, wastegates, diverter valves (Bailey, Forge, EVOM take your pick), and clutch and then just drive it. I lived in HK years ago...not too many places to take the car to open it up...you could parobably leave it stock and still beat any rickshaw on the block!

I'm still on the stock clutch at 27K miles with the above mods.
