Question on Replacing Tumbler switch in the Ignition

The spring load on the tumbler switch for the ignition on my 00 boxster is broken. The spring doesnt pop the key back when I start the car. When I turn it off it goes too far to the left and makes it hard to put the key in. I dont want to have to replace the actual core because the car would have to be rekeyed.

Anyway, because it is the same part for all the porsches I was wondering if anyone had any guidance on how to take it off and if a locksmith can fix something like this. The dealer said if you buy a new one then you can get the core rekeyed to your orig key, but then that means that you can take the core out, which means that you dont need to replace that part and it can probably be fixed making life so much easier.

Help! What do you guys think?
