Had a great day at Infineon Racetrack today. Thought I would share a few pics.

To tell you the truth, I don't much enjoy driving my car on the street. My truck gets better mileage and is not a target for the cops. Plus driving the 996TT at 70 mph is boring. Now at the track, this car is a blast and can be driven like it was designed to do. Full on it is a pleasure to drive and the reason we all bought it in the first place.
I agree it is a blast at the track but have to disagree its boring to drive on the street. I've had many 'race' cars which performed better at the track (c6 z06, don't kill me), but the reason I bought the Porsche was it is great at the track as well as a fun daily driver.

You are probably more disciplined than I. I want to push it every time I get in it, and because the car handles so well at speed, I don't feel the adrenaline until 100 mph. The Germans are lucky to have the autobahn.
That was the first time the 996TT ever disappointed me. Now sometimes I feel like I need a car that is more exciting at more reasonable speeds. If I stand on the accelerator for more than 4 secs on the highway, I'm deep in the triple digits.

Very interesting point. One of my favorite road to drive used is the Saw Mill Turnpike in upstate NY. In my old Audi S4, if I had empty roads, it was a blast. Apexing across 2 lanes on an empty mountain road with one way traffic is incredible. I recently got a chance to drive it again in the 996TT. I was really looking forward to it, but, when I got on the road, it quickly became apparent that because this car is so capable, to get the same thrill, I'd have to drive it at completely unreasonable speeds.

LOL, car's too fast? I agree with what he's saying about that... you definitely want to feel like you can open her up and let her breathe a bit...
And after that 4 seconds, there's no way you can put your foot down faster than a laser beam from the cop's car. Don't ask me how I know. That's why I really only enjoy the car at the track.
