Anyone know if 997 tiptronic will fit in a 996 turbo?

yes we have tryed this and even had the porsche dealer try to clear it and they couldnt because that is how bad the transmission is messed up

Seeing as you are stepping up to a new tranny, take this opportunity to install an UPGRADED torque converter NOW. Mods or not, your tranny will thank you.

An upgraded torque converter is $4K when the whole transmission is $8400. Labor for the transmission install is ~$2k. If you have to break down the transmission for the torque converter, double it.

Food for thought

It usually takes something pretty violent to hurt the control module - it's a PCB and fairly rugged.

well we decided to rebuild it and that is alot cheaper than getting a new transmission and it will have all 997 internals in the transmission so it will be a much better set up
