Digital readout does not go off

When I shut the car off and pull the key out, for some reason, the mileage readout, temperature and the rest of the digital readout does not turn off. There's also a small light under the mirror that doesn't go out.

If I set the alarm, it shuts them off, but otherwise they don't shut off. Anyone know what sensor shuts these lights off?

I don't think the amber LEDs (the one on the driver's door that shines on the ignition and the one on the mirror) ever go off unless you lock the car.

Iceyankee-Tsi is infamous around these parts
I agree with ait109:

I was acustom to leave the car in my garage without been locked and if a few days passed by, I could notice a much lower voltage in the battery. I then started to lock the car, the leds after a few minutes turned off and no battery drain ocurred. Ever since, I lock the car with the alarm on.

YOu should always set the alarm. It "goes to sleep" to save the battery. If you don't drive it for 5-7 days you will have to use the key to get in, not the remote.
