CC,
It looked like you were having a good time running around Putnam.
With your PSM de-activated was your PSM kicking back on when your ABS came on or were you running with your PSM on to begin with?
I have a TT as well and was curious if you were experiencing the same issues.
Thanks,
Rick

Rick, I saw you guys there, next time I'll say hi. Yes I was having a blast as my sloppy driving, sliding around will attest. I'll give you my opinion but with your experience, my opinion doesn't count for much. Just for the record, have you run your tt at Putnam or Gingerman? If yes, what kind of times and what rubber?

I ran most of the first day with PSM on until I felt more comfortable with the car and the track. After that, PSM was off. It would normally only turn back on when I really screwed up. It did turn on sometimes like in turn 8 as I was fighting understeer and purposefully trying to coax the car into rotating with pronounced lifts.

Tim,

I'll introduce myself next time, I was a little busy trying to repair an item on my Acura the first day of the DE.

It sounds like you and I experience the same issues with regard to PSM/ABS. The TT is a car that rewards you by driving smoothly. The PSM stays off and you're able to really hustle the car around the track if you don't push the car beyond it's limits.

The first time at Putnam earlier this summer I was able to run in the 1:17's. In the fall I ran some 1:15's fairly consistently without traffic(still learning Putnam). I had the PSM off and was running with Michelin Super Cup slicks. The slicks are awesome.

The car is stock, however it has the Moton Clubsport Shocks and Champion wheels. Also the interior has been gutted in prepartion for some WC events next year.

Your car looked great and with more seat time you should be able to safely lower your lap times.

The guys that helped me the most at Putnam are Norm G. and Jim Briggs. They have considerable track time at Putnam and you should pick their brains at the track as often as possible.

Remember your only going to get coaching from us until your lap times are lower than ours, then we'll get real quiet.

Take care,
Rick

PS Are we going to see you at VIR?

Rick: Thanks, I am begging Norm for his in car videos and data over on Rennlist. Please tell me about the MSC slicks and how well they hold up? How do they compare to the MPSC’s?

I don't get to do to many de's (2-3 a year) so I am done for this year. Have fun at VIR.

Tim,

I've not used the MPSC's so I don't know how they compare. I can tell you that the slicks held up great unlike the Hoosier R3S04's I had on earlier in the year(partly due to the Mid-O track).

The Slicks were good for the weekend and I recorded my fastest laps the last session of the weekend which is a sign I was still learning the track. Tire wear was even with about -3 deg. camber up front and approx -2.5 deg in the rear.

Hope this helps,
Rick

Tim, nice write up. I ran MPSC's on both street and track and recently switched to MPS2's for a more practical street ride. They feel like stepping on banana peels compared to the CUPS. You will be amazed at what a differenence tires can make.

Can't wait to track with you Stephen. I'll keep you informed of teh events I'll be going to.

Rick, I plan to try MPSC's as I don't trailer my car, but if I don;t like those, I may haul the tires on a mini trailer to the track, and tehn I ca do the slicks.

Mow, I can't wait.
