Back from the drag strip....awesome fun and much to learn
My first time at the track last year here at 6000ft, I was told that if I break 14 or 100mph I needed a helmet which I forgot to bring. Since I was just doing tuning runs I figured I could get what I needed and still be under that. So I rolled off easy, short shifted 1st and 2nd at 5000 rpm and laid into third to redline and shifted into neutral to coast to the finish line. 13.1 at 103. DAMM!!! I had to leave.
Be prepared to bring your shizle.
this may be a stupid question, but can i subtract my reaction time from my overall 1/4 time for my true time? or does the actual time start after you get off the line? How do car mags do it?
No. You can sit at the line for 3 days. Your time doesn't start until you cross the line.
Car mags may shallow stage (stopping right when the second light appears). This is what they call the 1 foot rollout. Because they start moving before time starts.

yes, your time on your slip is the correct time. Reaction matters when you are competitively racing.
Don't worry about the launch to much. with a stick car if you concentrate on the clutch release to much you will probably screw it up.
