New 996TT owner...

a new 996TT owner, just wanted to check in with everyone. I'm also a member over at the Renntech forums. I posted over there and everyone's great....I'm learning something new every day. I've been searching the forums here and other sites, learning the ins and outs of the beast that is now my car. I picked up an "02 polar silver, stock, with 58K on od, still with CPO here in San Diego and I've been drivin the wheels off over the last week. I don't plan to mod heavy as I'm worried about warranty issues. The plan for now is coilovers, front clear bra, tint, and considering having my wheels powder coated a dark charcoal. thats it. Just going to enjoy driving it awhile before I get too crazy. Might do a few events here in town with the PCA San Diego.

I did have a question though....from what I have read here, the average boost on stock turbos is around .6-.8 with an occasional spike to .9.......well, I'm holding at 1.0 bar wihtout any bleed off on a regular basis. I didn't know this was outside the norm until i read it here. I ran a test today on the way to work, here are the conditions:

3rd gear pull, from 2500-6000 rpm, then shift into 4th, pull for 3 seconds....full throttle
65 degrees outside, San Diego, getting onto the 5 from Sorrento Valley, full tank of gas, no additive,

it jumped immediately to 1.0 bar and held that until i let off the gas....held 1. bar in 4th too. it will spike to 1 in first and second from what i can see, but you know how hard it is to look down at the gauge in first and second in this thing while pulling hard.

Anyways, I'd love some feed back on this, about the boost. And if any of you out there have a set of coilovers you don't need, lemme know. I'll post some more pics soon. I just had my windows tinted and had clear bra installed on the entire front of the car...I'll post those pics soon...this pic is before install.

I'm with everyone here in thinking your car has been flashed. Have fun with it and don't worry about it.

I didn't intend on modding my Porsche either when I first bought it. Everybody says that. Next thing I know I've got 18gs an ATS triple carbon clutch and a bunch of other stuff. Enjoy your new car, drive the wheels off of her and welcome to the forum.

.5 stock? I thought they were supposed to be around .8 stock? I'm sure you felt some huge improvements compared to when you bought it.

He had leaking DVs bleeding boost off. I noticed my car felt a little slower when I picked it back up and today noticed just .7 at WOT. It ought to be 1.2-1.3! It's still fast but it wasn't quite pinning the DRIVER like it was before

So, seems I need to dork with the B/C. I really do not much like the Greddy B/C, does anyone know why these are so popular with these cars? Anything to do with controlling two turbos?

thanks for the welcome guys...yea, I assumed it was flashed too....I did do the VIN analyzer over at RENNTECH forums and it said it had 450 hp based on the vin, but everyone that has looked at it says it's not an X50. I don't car either way, just enjoying the ride right now.. thanks again...I'll post some updated pics soon.

here's a crappy pic from my iphone....I'll post more as I get them. Man, I really hate the way this car sits with the nose up and that big gap in the well well....I can't wait until I can get some coilovers....anybody got some laying around?
