Modern electronics and the 996tt

I want to upgrade the navigation to a current double din unit from Kenwood and also add a 500watt/rms amp and JL 12w7 subwoofer to my car. What I’m wondering is if any of you have added amps, head units, or any other electronics and had issues with the alternator or battery?
