once again i love the new rolling radar law in ca..it's like big sign that sez caution chp ahead, or behind. anyway it makes me a very safe driver, and i'm sure a pleasure for other drivers to be on the road with as they speed by me and get a ticket. this guy todat , igave him the slow down sign and he gave me the bird, only to pass the chp 1/4 mile down the raod and guess what hiseward was it's ticket time, these guys are really' gen. income on the weekends . ca is broke soooo guess we are gonna pay one way or the other or both sooo turn on the radar and watch your mirrors they are out their and they are hungrey

up until ca chp could only have their radar on when they are stoped, now they can have it on while they are in motion..

Whether it was legal or not, some CHP cruisers run around with their radar guns on all the time. Ever since I had my V1 for the past 3 or 4 years, I would be able to pick up and target moving signals.

On one instance, I picked up a signal from behind and the signal got stronger and stronger until the chp flew by me. I started to follow it but then there was still another signal behind me. It was another cruiser following him about 1/8th of a mile which also had its radar on.

Hmmmm....I'm starting to change my mind about the value of the detectors. I felt that with the "Instant On" technology...you were pretty well screwed and the detector was really nothing but a post mortem signal that told you you'd been had....but your examples shed a new light on their potential value.

Steve....did you honk and wave at the guy who flipped you off as you went by while the Chip was walking up to his car? I'll have to take a look at your setup at the next eurosunday.

I've been saved more than a few times by my V1 - it's worth it's weight in gold...

radar

well, dose anyone have exp with that $1500 model from escort? 9500 ix or
something....it's got a laser transmitter front/ back to throw off laser reading as well....

wow, the 2 cop radar trick is a new one..... chp has radar ON driving all the time on I15 to vegas....they pull over minivan's doing 100 all the time doing this.... i used to listen to the mobile extender freq. for additional 'info'...

i guess the val1 is a good model, from what i read, but the escort's new models have gps and downloadable photo/speed trap data bank, which is really a handy feature....

i'd consider having both in my car, if they don't set each off....

V-1 has saved my rear more times than I can count. CHP officers- like most people- tend to get lazy and they leave their radar units on. What was a radar detector has become a CHP detector. I've hardwired mine, and have one hard wired in my other vehicle as well. Keep it high up, in the tint strip, and nobody can really see it. An absolute necessity for my wallet and insurance rating!

I'd stay away from Beltronics. I've had two and both failed.

V1 for the win. It paid for itself easily within a week.
