yup, A stock 996tt runs around 107 mph. Stock Sti's run about 96. Both about 6-7 mph less than sea level. And this being a hot day made it worse. Then it rained and got hot again. it was muggy for sure.

This place sure is a heart braker.

 

There's no 2-step. We tried one last year but it didn't work really well. It seems to launch best at about 5k.

I'm not sure how correction factors work but it sure would be fun to run it at sea level. I had a built Evo back when they first came out. It was a 2.3L stroker with an HKS3240 turbo. At Bandimere it ran consistent 11.6 - 11.7 ET's. I had a buddy in Philly who wanted to bring it to Atco so I shipped it out. It ran a best of 10.94 and made significantly more boost. This is the only "apples to apples" comparison that I have.

There's an ongoing debate about the effects of altitude on FI cars. We lost a good 4 psi which is approx 100+HP??? These turbos where run wide open today and couldn't make anymore than 21 psi peak tapering off to 18-19psi. In AZ they made 24-25 psi on this car.

Evoms is going to come back up to Denver to upgrade to the 3076's. We'll have a little fun this summer and send it back to AZ this fall. Todd is trying to talk me into the Texas mile and a pair of GT35's.

 

Being in the foothills helps make up for the slow trap speeds. It sure is beautiful. Also, Bandi is one of the nicest facilities in the country. If only we had more air!

Man that car launches hard! Sounds amazing. Great work.

 

It takes some getting used to. The H pattern is so imbedded in my brain that it took a few runs. Once I got it down it worked really well. The shifts are smooth and solid. What I really like is the ability to focus entirely on driving and not worry about hitting the wrong gear. It really does make for a great safety feature. In summary: I'm glad I got it.

 

How do you like it on the street, Light to light?
