EVOMSit GT900+Torque Monster.. Shakedown 60-130 data. Good News/Bad News

First of all I would like to apoligize for the tardiness in producing numbers. I took possession of the car last evening at 8PM PDT and got my first numbers at 3AM the next morning. BS I know, there is no reason why it should take 7 hours to get a timehilarious.... Anyway, I put the car on my trailer and took it out to the AZ desert west of Phoenix. The bad news is I tossed my serpentine belt and only produced one run. The good news is it did a 5.56 on its maiden run. Considering the corner balance weight of this car is approaching 3800 lbs, lets call her Porkey. Porkey was a handful this morning to be sure. I took the car out and did some quick pulls to warm it up, did a bunch of 50- 90 type runs to get a feel for the car. I pulled over to pull the SD card and put it in my laptop to make sure it was logging properly,it was. Tried a 2-3-4, didnt happen. Street tires and near 900 ft lbs at the crank was not a very good combination. 3-4 was a bit better with an even pedal. I said it was going to get posted, good or bad, here it is....5.56 2 degrees down.
What do I think of this? Well, considering the fact it was the first time out in several years in a car that has more HP than my 200hp A3. It weighs in at near 3800lbs, is still AWD, has no weight saving measures, only running 105 octane and is on street tires in the AZ desert... I am pretty happy. Do I think this will be a sub 4sec car at this weight? Nope. I do think once I feel more comfortable in the car and get my DRs on it should be a solid 5.2 I would think.
The car is going back to Todd today and they will look at it Monday to make sure the pulley alignment is OK and replace the belt. I do appreciate Todd meeting me on a Sunday to take the car in the shop. Heck, I texted him at 3:30 this AM and said there is nothing serious wrong but could he call me when he gets up....yup, he called at 3:35. I am definately filling out this customer service survey!!!

WOW WOW excellent time ,very impressed, congrats. Can't wait for some DR times.

Very impressive!!! You might surprise yourself and run better than a 5.2...

Great #'s Kev!

Great run! The car clearly has alot more in her. I can see an easy 2 tenths on the shift alone. Not to mention how much better she will pull in better climate! Enojoy...

Kevin
That is a very impressive run especially considering it was your first time, I am certain it was hot (which is a huge killer in times), your weight of you car, the lack of traction (tire pressure or different tires?),a new clutch? and faster shifts etc.... It is hard to get below 5 sec and extremely difficult to get below 4.5 sec. These are huge barriers to break, for example I have watched several high HP cars run several runs back to back to get into the 4s.
Congratulations
Robert

Very impressive Kevin!

She makes good power that is for sure.

BTW, were you thrilled to death to finally drive it?

Congrats!

I respect a 5.56 a LOT more than a 900 hp claim. 60-130 tmes, trap speeds, road course and mile times are what REALLY count.

This car should indeed run a very low 5 second time w/ cold weather and DR's. Good job!

ReeknHavic Jun 7, 2009 07:49 AM

Damn that's fast.

Dr_jitsu Jun 7, 2009 07:54 AM

I know that is a long story, but can you break down and summarize what is in your car?

I just realized, as an SME, do you send the file to yourself?hilarious

Kevin, SWEET NUMBERS. Easily a 4 second car IMO. My 60-130 dropped 1.3 seconds by converting to RWD and 36 additional pounds of weight. I'm guessing you can easily knock off .6 seconds by putting her on a diet. You still have C16(which I vaguely remember you not wanting to use) and cold air to help.

I am now a Porsche Diagnostic Guru... I am not even going to wait for Todd or John to diagnose my car, I can definatively say that the serpentine belt works substantially better with a crank pulley attached to the crank! Ok, who needs my diagnostic services?

No, I am just touching myself at the moment....Scott got a copy of the file, it is his sandbox after all.

As for the AWD, who knows if it will last. I have not seen any data that definatively points in either direction. I know the dyno is rough on the diff and I think we did 40 pulls or so...I think
