New Member in need of Advice. THanks in advance

Hey wassap people, Ive been lurking this forum for a while searching and researching stuff about the 996TT. I drive a e36 supercharged m3 and ride a ducaiti 848. I do my own work on the m3 and 848. Im going to be looking into a 996TT within the next few months, I cant decide whether to get a X50 or just the regular TT. Theres actually a few Questions ive come up with and haven’t found the answers too. Ive read and searched about how bulletproof these cars are, and the pop-out 2nd gear. Ive searched for basic stuff too but cant find a website for it, like options for the car. Like whats the feature differences between the 2001-2004? Im just planning on putting Rims, Chip, exhaust, Dropping her.

To test for the 2nd gear pop-out do u just redline it in 2nd gear and if it pops out u need a new tranny? If I get a CPO does it cover it under warrenty?
I know major services every 15k, 30k, 60k, and I don’t know what else but can someone direct me to a website that has what they do on those services. Did I miss a major service?
When people talk about the plugs is it the spark plugs that take 5 hours to change? I know oil changes are accomplishable but does it require specific Porsche tools?
What difference does the X50 have that does the Base TT besides bigger turbos? Suspension different? Bigger brakes?
Am I better off looking for a navigation TT or just get a Aftermarket one?
And last but not least What should i know in owning a 911TT???? Ya think prices will get cheaper within the year???

I believe 2001-2002 is the year where there is no passenger glove box.

If you get a CPO, it should cover the tranny but it all depends on the dealership whether they want to be stingy about it.

Major services is every 30,000 miles with a minor every 15,000 miles.
Renntech has the checklist for major and minor services depending on model and year.

Oil change, not really. You just need the clamp for the oil filter. Everything else is basic tools and a drip pan large enough to fill about 9 quarts of oil.

The difference between the X50 would be the fuel pump I believe, the turbos and I want to say intercooler but thats prob wrong. The brakes are the same.

Stock navigation is horrible and outdated. Just get a small garmin.

The only thing I would say is, buy the sucker and unless you NEED to have the FASTEST car, store your wallet away somewhere because if you have money readily available, you'll somehow manage to get a pretty ridiculous setup going.

and yes, spark plugs take a while because of where they are positions in the car.
