Gang--
As many of you are aware and the many who don't care, I've been on a passive hunt for 996TT for about six months now. I think I may have found the one. (sounds matrix-ish) The one thing that concerns me is that when I googled the VIN I noticed that it has been on at least 3 different car sales floors before it finally landed at a Porsche dealership and was CPO'd.
What do you think?
Their asking price is mid 60's. What do you think?
PS. Does anyone feel generous and want to run a carfax for me?

FYI- I just bought an 02 X50 with 12,000 miles, sport seats, full leather for $49.5K.
I'm seeing X50's in the low 50's high 40's from private party sellers. At the dealer, very clean models similar to yours are going from $46K to $55K in my area (FL). Porsche of Melbourne had a similar car listed for $62 that they sold for $53- let that pricing structure be your guide!
That being said- if its the right car, then its the right car.

there are minor differences between the 01 and 04's, but what i can tell you that there is a really super killer deal on this forum already mentioned by flash68 that you should consider. At his asking price alone its an amazing deal. You also have the peace of mind that it is a well respected not only tuner(TODD KNIGHTON) but also active member of this board. The car looks gorgeous and is ready to go, only throwin a bone out there. Carfax is ok, carproof way better. something to consider...

I would like to get this car for $55k but they came back with $62,500. I think I am going to have to let them sit on the car a while before they come down into the 50s. Silly dealership, the car has been bouncing from 3-4 different dealerships for the last 12 months. All of them trying and failing to sell the car in the 60s.

when i was negotiating with my dealer i sent my salesperon an email explaining what i was prepared to pay and why, I sent links to various cars on ebay that had remained unsold and showing where the final bid was, i put forward a pretty good argument why my price was fair and there price was unrealistic, without being rude of course
he then told me to fuuuck off (joke)
its having a ppi and dme today so hopefully it comes back clean
good luck

NoRoom4Ever- hey its a nice car, but seriously the price is within KBB values. That being said, they really should come down to high $50's if they are serious about selling.
Greekc6- X50 is an $18K option that adds more power. If you do a search you can read more about it. Generally speaking it is more desirable, but not to everyone.
Imolas54- I already ran the VIN for him.
