Many many years ago, I used VHT tinting spray on a set of taillights... it comes out matte finish, so you'll need to put a coat of clear coat on it...

Yups there's a few layers and different coats (one of which is obviously clear at the end).

Damn Akkurat blingers...

I had my lights smoked several months ago. Except mine are smoked all the way in a lighter shade!

very nice subtle mod. i love the black accents on a silver car, matches great like the black rims and even black exhaust techart exhaust tips would match too IMO.

i did the same thing with my C32 taillights, just the white part not the red part and used some spray and then clearcoat. however, i am going to undo it and then get the stuff that acutally works, cause for me, after a few weeks, it came out all splotchy despite the clearcoat...

Rustang and Vette , etc. guys have done this for years - their vendors all sell translucent black -out spray paint. The more coats the darker and more illegal .
I had posted a while back that I would consider doing this to tone down the ugly bumper mounted turn signals/fogs on the 997 / 997 Turbo.

Gel Carbon is for posers.

DRY CARBON is where itz at! Trying to get pieces in dry carbon is quite hard, however...
