Help please? 996 Turbo wing problem

Hi,

I have searched the forums but cant find anyone with a similar issue so if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. I have just tried to install a new carbon fibre wing to replace the exisiting, big mistake... Not only can i not get the fittigns to suit on the new wing i have now tried to reinstall the exisitng spoiler back on the car. However, when i try to tighten the spoiler back on with the tool, it wil not lock back in. The hydraulic just keeps spinning and simply wont lock the spoiler into place? Have i busted somehting within the hydraulics?

PS... love any help too fitting this new spoiler.... its killing me....

There is a collar around the outside of the hydraulic ram post. It will spin freely, probably as some type of anti-theft device. You have to turn the collar with the spanner tool so that the hole in it lines up with the hole in the ram post itself. Then, using the spanner tool, you insert the prong from the spanner tool through the hole in the collar and into the hole in the ram post. It is the ram post that actually rotates to lock in the wing blade.

Try it without the wing blade just for practice - you will see what I mean

Still a problem

Thank you. By having that understanding it now appears that the hydraulic is actually moving at the same time I try to move the collar to line it up, hence meaning they will never line up coause they move together. When I open the engine hood up I see the whole thing moving also. Do you know of a way to tighten the hydralic into place so when I turn the collar it doesn't move with it? Thanks soo much.
