I gave you a few resources to contact. BTW, like I said before, like my friend Cary told me, unless you have a full race crew and very expensive equipment on hand, I doubt you will be able to tell the difference between any of them at that level.
i also doubt i'll be able to tell the difference but as long as i'm doing it i may as well get the best the first time around.

Steve,
what's ur first track day impression of the Elise. i'm curious to know because even though the US Elise just came here but the car actually has rich history overseas. i wonder how much difference aftermarket suspension would make on that car justifying the cost.

no, we do not have full equipment to do shock rebuilding & revalving. however, nowadays new shock is fairly cheap compare to rebuilding it.

not with $800 shocks.

my track day impressions of the Elise are that it is an awesomely fun little car. On the right track with the right driver it can be competitive with a GT3, although the Porsche should have the edge. I could break incredibly late and carry good speed through the turns. The car really shines in slalom-like sections such as turns 3/3a at buttonwillow.

That being said, the suspension was clearly outpaced by the grip of the tires. I'm sure the sport pack suspension is a bit better but both are still a compromise. I don't need street comfort so i don't need to make that compromise. Also i really need an adjustable suspension. to go from autocrosses, to short tracks like streets of willow, to open tracks like big willow without having adjustability is just too many compromises.

a good set of double adjustables is probably the only mod i will do to the car. it is incredibly well balanced otherwise.

Steve, obviously what you are looking for is a race shop. I think you may be making this a little difficult for yourself.

Go to Werks II and see what Galen says. If not, do some research on Lotus race teams and start from there. I guarantee you that you will not be able to tell the difference between Ohlins, JRZ, Moton, or Penske.

If you want to get that serious, maybe you should hire a race crew for the day and use telemetry equipment and a shaker rig for $5000/day to set up your car.

i'm not that serious (or that good). it really doens't take that much effort to post on the board and ask for advice so i thought it would be a good step to take. I called Werks II on wednesday and am still waiting for Galen to call me back. So, in the meantime i figured i'd try to compile as much information as possible.

i'll get it together one way or another. Thanks for your help.

-Steve
