Yeah, and then they lemon lawed the Porsche. Lets see how many GT2's do i know of with Lemon law buyback..... Quite a few.

You guys can continue to live in dreamworld, but both a 575 and a Murci are substantially faster than a stock 996TT. All day long.

As one of the newest members (last week, thank you), I think that most of the people reading and posting are living in a dreamworld. Allan, you've got a Ferrari, Lambo, and a Lotus. And others own the same type of high end machines or as most on this particular forum, 996tt's or better (x50's, GT2's). Any one of these cars is 2-4 years salary for the average American. I think the national average home price is in the $140k range. A heated battle over tenths of a second in super cars, gotta love it. And...That's why I supplied some independent third party data, where each car was tested consistantly, even though it was by a 'mag.' If you worked for that mag, and tested those cars yourself, I'd imaging that you would be quite positive about your results.

Dude, your kidding right? The main reason I chose the 996TT over the Gallardo was the problems with the Lambo. I still plan to get one but not until Lambo can address the current issues.

Hey Darren, lock this thread. It's starting to get a little lame.

All I know is that on a real road, in real life, I dusted the 575. All of these arguments are great, but real world results are unassailable.

Who cares. The other dude's still in the Ferrari. And not just any Ferrari. A Maranello. Mike Loweeeery.

Straight-line racing is for those who know how to put the foot down on the go-pedal.

Whoop-dee-doo.

I am amazed at how anti-Porsche and, in fact, just plain rude some of the people are on this board. Am I missing something?

Nah, they're just the usual suspects.

So who's setting up the race b/w a 550/575 and a stock TT?

I have a GT2 and I'm buying a 550. They are both great just different. The 550 is an Italian muscle car. The Gt2 is a turbo on steroids.

I know quite a few Gallardo owners with no problems whatsoever. The only REAL problems with the Gallardo have been with the E-gear, and if you have the updated computer, youre fine.

575 is sexy imo, gallardos are kind of ugly, a buddy of mine got one, fast but still too boxy.

Where in my post did I reference a "stock 996TT"? Sit down cowboy . . . I wasn't challenging your claims regarding a stock 996TT vs. a 575 . . . rather, I was merely sharing my expereince with a 575.
