Yellow Caliber option
Yellow Caliber option
Hi. I got my car with the Yellow Caliber. I just checked carsdirect, and they have that option for $3800. I want to know how come it's so expensive. Is it better than the Red Caliber?
Thanks.
Thanks.
You can't be serious?
and if you are, the yellow callipers are The porsche ceramic composite brakes. a little more info:
The latest generation of remarkable brake technologies, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) combine a massive, cross-drilled 13-inch carbon fiber reinforced ceramic disc with high performance composite pads. The durability of the PCCB allows a brake disc to last as long as the car itself under normal driving conditions. The ceramic brake disc weighs 50% less than its cast-iron counterpart. Combined 6-piston brake calipers on the front and 4-piston brake calipers on the rear ensure maximum braking.

Yes, it's a 01 Porsche. I just bought it certified. But the dealer didn't mention anything about the special brakes. I wonder is it just the color yellow or I do have the ceramic brakes.
How can I tell?
Thanks.

Moogle, then wouldn't yellow be good for the body but bad for the brakes. Shoot, now I have to repaint my calipers (I thought they weren't stopping as well).

The color option for yellow painted calipers is actually quite ridiculously expensive. I think the $3k range is not far off. I'm not exactly sure what Porsche was thinking when they did that...but it's not the first I've heard of it.
