What pressure will the wastegate HOLD without any pressure? Is that the "1 bar"?

Running K24s at 1.3 bar on the stock (3.8) FPR? Why not install the 5 bar as cheap insurance to keep your injector duty cycle down and give yourself head-room from a lean situation?

P.S. If you're currently running 1.1bar, you're already chipped.

Modified wastegate springs (or new wastegates) will hold boost pressure even without the flash... AFAIK

OK. I am now ready to go on my DME/ECU Tune.

I have done a couple of mods but nothing drastic and intend to do only a few more as listed below. I do not intend on tracking the car at all. It has 6k miles on it. Just street use so I am primarily interested in 0-60 as fast as I can get. I do not want to update the FPR or Injectors, I simply do not need or want that much power.

Here is what I have:
  • Stock K24 turbos
  • 200 Cell German CATs on a Gen II Gabspeed Exhaust system
  • 1 bar Wastegates adjusted to 11psi opening pressure (the lowest setting they can go)
  • Stock Air Filter Box with Custom HiFlo Filter
Here is what I will add:
  • Port the Stock Headers (Maybe in the next couple of weeks, I still need to get some gaskets)
  • Aquamist High Pressure Water/Alcohol Injection for Cooling only not performanceenhancement, I will use the 2S system. I will most likely pick this up next month when I am in the UK.
  • DV Valves and Hoses (Only if /when they blow or cause problems)
  • A Clutch, again only when needed.
I am looking for a Tuner who can give me a good deal considering the current economy (6speed or rennlist discount etc.), and cater for all my current and proposed mods.

Here are my criteria:
  • The FLASH must be able to be applied by me via my laptop or other programming medium. I am absolutely NOT interested in mailing my DME to anyone any time soon.
  • I must be able to revert to my original stock programming at any time.
  • I would like a 93 Octane Tune
  • 1.3 bar sustained (19psi) of Boost (I currently get 1.1 Bar)
  • Optimized Fuel Map for 1.3 bar on stock FPR & Injectors
  • Optimized Air Fuel Ratios to Ensure NO Lean situationsl
  • Optimized Knock Sensor programming so it does it job correctly and does not let the Engine run wild
  • Published Total WHP and BHP and Torque will I enjoy with the Tune. I understand all cars can be unique here but a general idea will do
I would like to hear primarily from happy customers of their experiences. I have ruled our one FLASH provider (or they ruled out me) as I did not want their Wastegate upgrade/MOD/Kit and it was mandatory with their tune. (Shame as they were my front runner) Those who have this know who I am talking about.

If there are any killer deals out there of course I would like to know.

I would like to showcase my experiences with my chosen vendor here on 6Speed and Rennlist. I assume that would be agreeable.

SWR
no offense but good luck on finding a tuner that will want to work with you... your minimum requirements normally do not come with what you call "killer deals".. trust me I been there a few times before...
Good luck,
markski

I agree,if I were a tuner the post above would scare me to death. My advice to the O.P. Would be to talk to all the tuners individually and see which one fits your needs and at the same time gives you the warm fuzzies.Going about it in this sort of demanding way and then asking for a deal is not gonna get you too far IMO.

For what you are doing, this has nothing to do with power and everything to do with safety and duty cycle.

Don't think K24s can hold 1.3 BAR

All you need are diverter valves and a flash

My Stock X50 reaches .9 bar- I'm guessing you have something special already if you are reaching 1.1 bar?
